The 2011 Milwaukee ethnic festival season starts this weekend with Polish Fest.  Did you know that Milwaukee’s Polish Fest is America’s largest Polish festival?  Polish Fest features cultural exhibits, Polish music and entertainment, vodka tasting, Polish food, and fireworks on Saturday night.

Polish Fest takes place this weekend, June 17-19, 2011 at Henry W. Maier Festival Park on Milwaukee’s lakefront. Tickets are $12 at the gate for adults 16 – 54 and $10 for adults 55 and older. There are several ticket promotions to help you save money.

50¢ Friday

Friday, June 17th is 50¢ Friday. From Noon until 5:00 pm, everyone gets in to Polish Fest for $0.50. After 5:00, admission is $5.

Hunger Task Force Saturday

On Saturday, if you donate three or more food items to the Hunger Task Force, you will get free admission. This promotion doesn’t start until 8:00 p.m., but runs until midnight.

Polish Fest Mass Admission Discount

On Sunday you can get into Polish Fest for just $4 if you attend the Polish Fest Mass, which starts at 10:15 a.m.

Free Admission for U.S. Military Personnel

For the duration of Polish Fest, active members of the United States Military will get free admission. To get free admission, military personnel must be in uniform and present their active military I.D.

On Sunday, you can get into Polish Fest for just $4 if you attend the Polish Fest Mass, which starts at 10:15 am. Milwaukee Archbishop Jerome Listecki will preside over the Polish Fest Mass. Also on Sunday, all Dads will get free admission for Father’s Day from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm when accompanied by their children.

Milwaukee Area Freebies for Dad on Father’s Day

Father’s Day is Sunday, and there are plenty of things to do with dad around town for free.

  • The Milwaukee County Zoo has free admission for dad from 9:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.  Scheduled is a craft activity for kids to make their dad something special. 
  • The Milwaukee Public Museum is offering free admission for dad from 10:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.
  • Discovery World Museum is offering free admission for dad from 10:00 A.M. until 5:00 P.M.
  • The Betty Brinn Children’s Mueseum has free admission for dad from 12:00 noon. until 5:00 P.M.  There are craft activities scheduled for kids to make their dad a card and a special coupon book. 
  • Several Milwaukee County Parks golf courses are offering a free round golf for dad after 1:00 P.M. and with the purchase of a second round.  Participating courses are:  Brown Deer Park, Currie Park, Dretzka Park, Grant Park, Greenfield Park, Lincoln Park, Oakwood Park, and Whitnall Park.
  • Polish Fest (which is American’s largest Polish festival, by the way) will be offering free admission to dads from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.  In addition, kids under the age of 15 are free when accompanied by an adult.
  • Wings Over Waukesha is taking place this weekend, and admission is free for everyone.  The historic military aircraft event runs between 9:00 A.M. until 6:00 P.M. from June 19th through June 21st.
