Milwaukee Area Mother’s Day Freebies
If you’re looking for ideas for Mother’s Day, there are several options around Milwaukee where you can spend quality time with mom and not have to spend any money.
Betty Brinn Children’s Museum
Although it isn’t being promoted, Betty Brinn Children’s Museum is offering free admission to moms again this Sunday. The Museum is open from noon until 5:00 p.m. Admission for everyone else in your party is $6 ($5 for seniors, and free for kids ages one and younger). The Betty Brinn Children’s Museum isn’t promoting this on their website or Facebook page, however we contacted them and they confirmed that moms are indeed free on Mother’s Day.
Milwaukee County Parks Golf Courses
Purchase one round of golf and a single rider cart after 1:00 p.m. on Mother’s Day, and mom golfs and rides for free. This offer is available at Brown Deer, Dretzka, Oakwood, Whitnall, Currie, Grant, Greenfield, and Lincoln golf courses. More information is available on the Milwaukee County Parks Facebook page
Milwaukee County Zoo
As we wrote about earlier in the week, moms get free admission to the Zoo on Sunday. The Zoo is open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on Mother’s Day.
Old World Wisconsin
Admission to Old World Wisconsin is free for moms on Mother’s Day. Although their website doesn’t mention this promotion, it is mentioned on the Wisconsin Historic Sites and Museums Facebook page. Old World Wisconsin is open from noon until 5:00 p.m. on Mother’s Day.
Do you know of any other Mother’s Day promotions that we missed? If so, please leave a comment so we can update our list!
Free Mother’s Day Admission for Mom to the Milwaukee County Zoo
This Sunday, May 8th, all mothers will receive free admission to the Milwaukee County Zoo. The Zoo will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
At 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. the Zoo will present the documentary film, “Green” in the Peck Welcome Center Theater. This 48-minute film focuses on the Indonesian rainforest, deforestation and orangutan extinction. The orangutan focus is appropriate for Mother’s Day considering the Zoo’s most well-known mother is orangutan MJ. MJ has raised her her surrogate son Mahal since 2008 in the Primates of the World Exhibit.
Details of the Mother’s Day event can be found on the Milwaukee County Zoo website.
Free Mother’s Day Admission at Betty Brinn Children’s Museum
