2010 Boston Store Million Acts of Goodwill Sale Starts Wednesday, March 10th
The 2010 Boston Store Million Acts of Goodwill Sale starts on March 10th and will run through March 24th.
For each gently used item you bring to Boston Store to donate, you’ll receive coupon for 20% off just about any item at Boston Store. (With cosmetics and fragrences the coupon is good for 15% off.) There is no limit on how many coupons you can receive. For instance, donate ten items and you’ll receive ten coupons!
The coupon is good for any of the Bon Ton stores: Bon Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder Beerman, Herberger’s, and Younkers.

Day After Christmas Sales in Milwaukee
The day after Christmas is one of the best days of the year for bargain shoppers. It can be a great day to pick up deals on Christmas items for next year, like wrapping paper and Christmas cards. It’s also a great time to redeem gift certificates that you may have received as a gift.
If you are going to venture out on December 26th in search of bargains, you can save yourself some time by previewing the sales on the website of stores you like to shop at. At the time of this post many stores such as Amazon
JCPenney will be opening at 5am on Saturday for their after-Christmas Sale. Visit their website to preview their ad for the store closest to you. The online ad has coupons for $15 off a purchase over $75 or more, and $10 off a purchase of $50 or more. Doorbuster sales include towels, hooded sweatshirts, women’s sweaters, and men’s and women’s cold weather accessories. Their entire stock of holiday tablewear, decor, and trim is 75% off.
Sears is advertising doorbuster sales from 7am to Noon on Saturday. Notable doorbusters at Sears include an extra 40% off clearance prices, $9.99 Canyon River Blues jeans for the family, and 70% off coats for the family. Sears also is advertising 20% off all Kenmore appliances; however, before purchasing an appliance, make sure you have researched the Wisconsin “cash for clunker appliances” program that begins January 1, 2010.

The Boston Store Goodwill Sale Event starts on September 16th, and runs through September 29th. When you donate items of clothing to Goodwill at Boston Store, you will receive a coupon good for 20% off for each item that you donate. The nice thing about the coupons is that they can be used for items not usually discounted like fragrances and cosmetics.

Gold Buyers in Milwaukee
The Sunday, July 19th issue of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel has two large advertisements for gold buyers in Milwaukee.
On pages 8A and 9A Boston Store is advertising a gold buying event which will be put on by a company The Estate Department. The advertisement claims that The Estate Department is the largest gold, silver, and platinum buying organization in the world. The advertisement goes into great detail about all they types of silver coins, silver dollars, gold coins, rare coins, paper money, jewelry, and gold that they will purchase. The event takes place from Monday, July 20th thru Saturday, July 25th. Hours are 10am to 6pm at the Boston Store located at Mayfair Mall (2400 North Mayfair Road in Wauwatosa). The ad states that you can stop in for a free evaluation.
Pages 23A, 24A, and 25A detail another cash for gold buying event in Milwaukee. Tyre, Bailey, Roberts and Associates is a jewelry and coin buying operation that, according to the ad, will be paying cash for all jewelry, watches, coins, precious metals, gem stones, historical documents, sterling, and silver. The event takes place from Monday, July 20th, thru Sunday, July 26th from 9am to 7pm at three locations:
- Radisson North Shore – 7065 North Port Washington Road, Milwaukee
- Crowne Plaza Wauwatosa – 10499 West Innovation Drive, Wauwatosa
- Ramada Airport South – 6331 South 13th Street, Milwaukee

Journal Sentinel Sunday Paper Deals – April 26, 2009
One of the best deals around Milwaukee is the home delivery of the Sunday Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. You can easily recoup the cost of the paper with using all the coupons from the paper. Each week we’ll post some of the best deals we think we saw in the most recent Sunday paper. We know value is in the eye of the beholder, so we’d love to see you submit a comment with the best values you think are advertised in the Sunday paper.

- The main section seems to have the best deals this week.
- Page 2A has a coupon for Panera Bread – $2 off any You Pick Two meal (where you select two of the following: half sandwich, half salad, or soup). The coupon expires May 16, 2009.
- Page 6A is a full page ad for Ashley Furniture Homestore in Pewaukee. They are closing their Pewaukee store, moving their business to Franklin, Kenosha, and Richfield, and they claim everything in their Pewaukee store has to be sold. Ashley is advertising 20% to 70% off regular prices. In addition, every floor sample is on sale. This offer expires on May 18, 2009. Ashley Furniture Homestore is located at 1230 Capitol Drive in Pewaukee.
- Page 11A has a full page ad for Boston Store Capacity Days. Boston Store tags this sale as their biggest sale of the season, and you can earn double reward points when you use your store card. There are four coupons in the ad. But you need to act fast – the sale ends tomorrow (Monday, April 27th).
- Page 25A has an ad for B&G Golf, Bowling, and Racket Sports. B&G is advertising their largest golf event of the season on Saturday, May 2nd from 9am to 3pm at the newly renovated Storms Driving Range. Storms is located 1 block north of Brookfield Square at 16120 W. Wisconsin Avenue. The ad touts an “economy buster” where a $10 range fee buys you a $25 merchandise certificate. Of course, restrictions apply, but the ad doesn’t list the restrictions. There are also prize drawings throughout the day. B&G locations and hours can be found on their website.
- Page 15 of the USA Weekend section has a coupon for one free piece of Kentucky Grilled Chicken. No purchase is necessary. The coupon expires May 17th, 2009. The coupon has a disclaimer “limit one per coupon at participating KFC restuarants.” Disclosure language like this reminds us of our recent post on a promotion gone wrong at Popeyes Chicken!

Boston Store has set up a special website for this sale. If you send your friends an email from the Goodwill sale website, you will be presented with a 25% off coupon that can be printed off at home to be used during the sale.
**Update** They have changed the additional 25% off coupon promotion to $10 off a $25 purchase for use after the Goodwill sale is over. To get the $10 off coupon, fill out the form on their website letting them know what you donated. (The promotion for the 20% off coupon that you receive for items donated to Goodwill hasn’t changed.)
