Ray’s Liquor in Wauwatosa is giving away one free ticket to the Wisconsin State Fair with any of the following purchases:

  • Mike’s Hard Lemonade – purchase of two 12-packs.
  • Bud Light Lime – purchase of 18 pack bottles.
  • Bud Light – purchase of case of 30 pack cans.
  • Miller High Life & High Lift Light – purchase of 24 pack bottles.

…and best of all there is no limit!  This deal expires on August 8, 2010.

Ray’s is located at 89th and North Avenue in Tosa.

Note that you might be able to find similar offers at other liquor or grocery stores around town.  For example, we saw the Mike’s Hard Lemonade offer at a Pick ‘n Save this week, but not the Bud and Miller promotions.  If you’ve seen these offers anywhere else, please leave a comment for our readers.

Wisconsin State Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate Program

focus_topnav_logoFocus on Energy has released more information on the Wisconsin State Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate program (which some people are calling “cash for clunker appliances”). The cash back rewards will be effective January 1, 2010 and can be claimed by completing a mail-in reward form.

If you are in need of one of the following eligible appliances, it may be to your benefit to wait until after January 1st to purchase the appliance so you can take advantage of the rebate:

  • Heating & Cooling Equipment:
    • Boilers – $200
    • Central air conditioners & Air-source Heat Pumps- $75
    • Furnaces (oil and gas) – $200
    • Geothermal Heat pumps – $75
  • Appliances
    • Clothes washers – $100
    • Dishwashers – $25
    • Freezers – $50
    • Refrigerators – $75
    • Water heaters – $150 (Electric heat pump water heaters – $50)
  • Renewable Energy
    • Solar hot water – $2,000

Interested in earning a 1% rebate on all of your purchases at McDonalds?  If you are a Upromise member, all you need to do is register the code on your Arch Card or gift certificate book on the Upromise website.  Each time you do this, 1% of your purchase will be deposited to your Upromise account.

Make sure you register your Arch Card right away.  Cards must be registered within 30 days of purchase, otherwise you won’t receive credit.  After the card is registered, you’ll receive credit each time you reload the card.

upromiseWe’ve recently written about how Upromise works and how to link Upromise coupons to your grocery loyalty card, such as a Pick ‘n Save Advantage Plus card.  Today we’ll discuss how you can earn money by dining at local area restaurants.

Earning dining rebates from Upromise is easy.  In the registration process for Upromise, you can link your credit card to the Upromise program.  Then, whenever you dine at one of the eligible restaurants and pay for your bill with your credit card, you’ll automatically receive the rebate in your Upromise account.

Finding a local restaurant that you enjoy shouldn’t be too difficult.  There are 102 restaurants within 15 miles of downtown Milwaukee that are in the Upromise program.

Some sample restaurants and their respective rebates:

  • County Clare – 2%
  • The Pasta Tree – 2%
  • Barbiere’s Italian Inn – 2%
  • Panini Co – 2%

Looking for a way to help save for a child’s education? An easy way to accumulate extra money is with a FREE Upromise account. We’ll be writing about Upromise on a regular basis to help Milwaukee Consumers understand all the in’s and out’s of a Upromise account. Here’s a brief introduction into what Upromise is all about:

Upromise was founded with a single mission in mind-to help families achieve the goal of a college education for the children they love.  Upromise provides the programs, products, and information parents need to help them reach their college-savings goals.  As a Upromise member, you can save for college on everyday purchases such as gas, groceries, dining out-even when you shop online.  And you can invite your family and friends to help you save too. When they join, a portion of their eligible spending can be deposited into your Upromise account-automatically.

To date, Upromise and its partners have contributed over $450 million to their member’s accounts. 

How It Works

  • Join Upromise for FREE and register your grocery loyalty cards, credit cards, and other basic information to allow us to track your eligible spending
  • Shop for the participating products and services you enjoy.  There are 96 restaurants within 14 miles of downtown Milwaukee that participate in the Upromise program.  To search for participating restaurants close to you, click on the advertisement below to get to the Upromise website, then click on the “Meet Our Partners” tab and select the Restaurants option.
  • Save a portion of your qualified spending for college automatically in your Upromise account.
