24 Days of Giveaways - Real Pirates at the Milwaukee Public Museum
Today’s prize in our 24 Days of Holiday Giveaways is two passes to see the Real Pirates exhibit at the Milwaukee Public Museum! Museum admission is also included.
Real Pirates features the story of pirate Sam Bellamy and the ship Whydah, one of the most notorious pirate ships of the early 1700s. Whydah was captured by Bellamy and his crew and subsequently captured over 50 additional ships. Whydah sank in 1717 and was discovered 300 years later. The Real Pirates exhibit will be at the Milwaukee Public Museum until May 27, 2013.

Member Swap Day: Free Admission for Museum Members on Sunday
Sunday, December 2 is Member Swap Day at the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, Discovery World, the Milwaukee Art Museum, the Milwaukee Public Museum, and now the Harley-Davidson Museum! If you are a members of any of the five museums, you will get free reciprocal admission to the other museums!
To participate, museum members should present their membership card at any of the museums they wish to visit.
The event takes place between the hours of 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The participating museums may have special membership offers available during the event to encourage you to join. More information is available on the Discovery World website.
Milwaukee Public Museum Buccaneer Bash Giveaway
The Milwaukee Public Museum is celebrating the upcoming opening of the new Real Pirates exhibit in December by hosting The Buccaneer Bash on Saturday night.
Party with other pirates and enjoy music, food & drink, and a sneak preview of the Real Pirates exhibit.
The Buccaneer Bash runs from 7:30 - 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 3. The cost of the event is $50 a person, and is open to those ages 21 and older.
The Buccaneer Bash activities include:
- See the Real Pirates exhibit before it opens to the public in December
- Costume Contest - Dress in your best pirate gear and have a chance to win great prizes
- Dance to Caribbean and other pirate inspired music from around the world
- Enjoy food and rum (and other beverages)
- Check out The Foresaken - a reenactment group that will show you how pirates lived
