Milwaukee Area Earth Day Freebies
Many retailers will use any opportunity to promote themselves through free publicity and giveaways, especially in this economy. We have seen all kinds of freebies on non-traditional holidays recently - election day, tax day, and now Earth Day. The following offers are available from national retailers with a presence in the Milwaukee area:
- Whole Foods is giving away free reusable lunch bags through April 26th. Present this coupon to get your free bag.
- The Disney Store will give you a free Disney water bottle if you bring in 3 empty plastic bottles.
- Walgreens is giving away free reusable shopping bags today. To get yours, present this coupon to get your free bag & other 15-20% off other items in the store.
In addition to those listed above, there have been rumors on the internet about free coffee at Starbucks today if you bring in your own coffee mug. We spoke with a barista at our closest Starbucks and she said that there was no official promotion today, but she would give us free coffee if we brought in our own mug. If you want to try this, we suggest calling ahead first!
If you know of any giveaways around town that we missed, leave a comment and let us know.
Designated Driver Program at Miller Park
A great way to get a free soda during a Brewer game at Miller Park is to participate in the Designated Driver program. The driver of a vehicle parked in a Miller Park lot must present their parking receipt, drivers license, and sign a pledge not to drink alcoholic beverages while at Miller Park or in the parking lots. Register at the program kiosk at the Home Plate Gate or the Guest Relations Center behind section 419 on the Terrace Level. Here are the complete details from the Brewers Ballpark Guide:
Designated Driver The safety of our fans is a priority with the Brewers. As part of our commitment, we have joined with Miller Lite, Pepsi-Cola, Sportservice and Imperial Parking to implement a Designated Driver program at Miller Park. To register, the driver of a vehicle parked in the Miller Park lots must sign a pledge not to consume alcoholic beverages while at Miller Park or in the Miller Park parking lots. The Designated Driver must be 21 years of age, have a Miller Park parking receipt for that game and a valid driver’s license. The driver will receive one coupon for a complimentary soft drink. Participants may register at the Designated Driver kiosk located at the Home Plate Gate or at the Guest Relations Center behind section 419 on the Terrace Level. Guests may sign up for the Designated Driver program from the time Miller Park gates open until one hour into the ballgame.
We suggest that as soon as you park, rip off the stub at the bottom of your parking receipt and place it in your pocket or wallet so you don’t forget to bring it in to the ballpark with you!
