Last year my wife and I visited Bayfield and the Apostle Islands for the first time. Although it is a long drive from the Milwaukee area, the trip was definitely worth it.
Included in the Travel Guide is information about Bayfield and Madeline Island, including contact information for must-do activities including Apostle Islands Cruise Service, the Madeline Island Ferry Line, and Madeline Island. The lighthouse shown above is on Devils Island, which is one of the Apostle Islands. The northern tip of Devils Island is the northernmost point of Wisconsin.

Kids Ride Free on the Lake Express this Summer
If you’re looking for a unique family vacation this summer, consider traveling to Michigan aboard the Lake Express.
The Milwaukee - Muskegon high-speed car ferry is celebrating its tenth year of operation by offering a special deal for families this summer.
Between June 15 - September 2, children ride free on the Lake Express when accompanied by a paying adult. Families can receive up to two free child tickets for each roundtrip adult Classic Cabin ticket purchased. Port, security and fuel surcharge fees apply to all tickets, including the free child tickets.
Visiting Michigan on the Lake Express is something that I have always wanted to do with my family. Although it is an expensive trip, it would be nice to avoid Chicago traffic and arrive in Michigan in less than three hours. Plus, riding on a high-speed ferry seems like a very cool thing to do!
The Lake Express makes three roundtrip sailings between Milwaukee and Muskegon each day during the summer. For full details, including fares for adults and vehicles, check out the Lake Express website.
