Free Admission to Wisconsin State Parks on Sunday
Sunday is State Park Open House Day. Admission to all Wisconsin State parks, forests and trails is free!
The southeastern area of the state is home to several state parks & forests including:
- Kettle Moraine State Forest - Waukesha, Walworth, and Washington Counties
- Richard Bong State Recreation Area, Kenosha County
- Kohler-Andrae State Park, Sheboygan County
- Big Foot Beach State Park, Walworth County
In addition to State Park Open House day on Sunday, Saturday is National Trails Day. All Wisconsin State trails offer free admission.

Free Fishing Weekend
As we posted previously, this weekend is also Free Fishing Weekend in Wisconsin. All the waters of the state are open for free fishing. Residents and non-residents of all ages can fish without a fishing license (or trout or salmon stamps) over these two days. However, all other fishing regulations still apply.
Free Fishing Weekend: Fish Without a License in Wisconsin this Weekend
June 1-2 is Free Fishing Weekend in Wisconsin. State residents as well as those that live out-of-state are able to fish in Wisconsin without a license all weekend.
All of the waters of the state are open including state waters of the Great Lakes and rivers bordering Wisconsin. Residents and non-residents of all ages can fish without a fishing license (or trout or salmon stamps) over these two days, however all other fishing regulations (length limits, bag limits, etc.) apply. Free fishing clinics and activities are scheduled at several locations throughout the state including a clinic at Memorial Park in Oconomowoc on Saturday.
In conjunction with Free Fishing Weekend, admission to all state parks, forest, trails and recreation areas are free on Sunday.
The annual Free Fishing Weekend is sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and local sporting clubs.
Member Swap Day: Free Admission for Museum Members on Sunday
If you are a member of any of the major museums in Milwaukee, you’ll want to check out Member Swap Day on Sunday, May 19.
Museum members will receive free reciprocal admission to the other participating museums.

- Milwaukee Public Museum
- MSOE Grohmann Museum
To participate, museum members should present their membership card at any of the museums they wish to visit.
