Woodman’s Planning to Arrive in Waukesha in 2013
JSOnline is reporting that a Woodman’s grocery store and gas station is being proposed for the northeast side of Waukesha at Highway 164 and Main Street. Assuming the project is approved by city officials, Woodman’s hopes to start construction next year and have the store open by the summer of 2013.
Woodman’s opened locations in Oak Creek in 2008 and Menomonee Falls in 2010. They are known for their deep discount prices and being open for 24 hours a day. Like Aldi, their stores do not accept credit cards in an effort to minimize expenses. Other cost cutting measures include minimal ads and items shelved in their shipping cases or stacked in the aisles.
We’ve received a number of passionate comments on previous blogs we have posted on Woodman’s, such as My First Trip to Woodman’s and Woodman’s Coupon Policies. Our readers comments have centered around the following themes:
- Woodman’s offers a great selection of items.
- Pricing appears to be comparable to Walmart and typically is cheaper than most other local grocery stores.
- The stores are large and overwhelming. It takes a little getting used to the layout but it’s worth the effort.
What do you think about Woodman’s plans to build a store in Waukesha? Will a new Woodmans Waukesha store change the way you shop?
