The Valpak website is a great resource to check for coupons before you make a purchase, whether it be dining, home improvements, entertainment, or auto care.  Hundreds of coupons are available for the Milwaukee metro area.  In addition, if you are an iPhone user, Valpak has a free application which can detect your general location, thereby making it easier to find relevant coupons on the app than on the Valpak website.  The coupons displayed on the iPhone app are mobile coupons, so no clipping is necessary – just show your phone to the cashier!

We also found a few coupons on the iPhone app that weren’t available on the website.  Notable deals include:

  • Glass Nickel Pizza (Brookfield location) – 50% off a 16″ specialty pizza using the online code HALFPIE.  See mobile coupon for full details.  Expires 2/28/10.
  • Auntie Annie’s Preztels at Brookfield Square – Buy a pretzel, get one free.  See mobile coupon for full details.  Expires 2/28/10.

Notable high-value offers found on the Valpak website include:

  • Saz’s $20 Lunch Fish Fry for 2. Includes free pitcher of beer.  Regularly priced at $36.50.  Coupon is valid Wednesdays and Fridays.  Expires 2/28/10.
  • Molly Cool’s Free Dozen Oysters with Purchase of an Entree. Expires 2/28/10.
  • Valvoline $15 Off Full Service Oil Change. Search the Valpak website for “Valvoline” and enter in the city and state of the Valvoline store you visit.
  • Taco John’s (Waukesha location) – Multiple coupons, including: buy a super burrito, get one free.  $1 off a six pack and a pound (six taco’s and a pound of potato ole’s).

Milwaukee Car Repair – Transmission Fluid Changes

It pays to shop around when you need maintenance or repair on your vehicle.  Consider my recent experience shopping for a transmission fluid change.  I called around for a few quotes and was surprised at the range of prices.  Here are the quotes I received:

  • One major milwaukee area dealer  $149.95
  • Another major milwaukee area dealer $129.95
  • Car-X $119.95
  • Valvoline $109.95 (less $10 in-store coupon)
  • Farm and Fleet $89.95

I ended up going to Valvoline.  While they weren’t the best deal available, it was very convenient.  I was in and out in a half an hour.  The wait at Farm and Fleet would have been much longer, but that could vary depending on what day and what time of day you contact them.

Again, the moral of the story is to shop around.  Also, be sure to consult our Milwaukee Coupons page to see if there are any valuable local coupons that are available.
