Free Admission to the Milwaukee County Zoo for Mom on Mother’s Day
This Sunday, May 9th, all mothers will receive free admission at the Milwaukee County Zoo. Details of the Mother’s Day event can be found on the Milwaukee County Zoo website. The zoo is open from 9:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. on Mother’s Day. At 11:00 A.M., 12:00 noon and 1:00 P.M. the Zoo will present the documentary film, “Green.” Showing in the Peck Welcome Center Theater, the 48-minute film focuses on the Indonesian rainforest, deforestation and orangutan extinction. In conjunction with the showing of the movie, primate zookeepers and volunteers will host special outreach areas throughout the Primates of the World Building, called Project M.O.M. (Missing Orangutan Mothers).

This Sunday, May 10th, all mothers receive free admission at the Milwaukee County Zoo! All mom’s will also receive a chance to win a free two night stay at The Wilderness Hotel and Resort in the Wisconsin Dells. The Wilderness Hotel and Resort is the sponsor of the Mother’s Day event.
Full details of all activities on Mother’s Day can be found on the Milwaukee County Zoo website. Among the many activities listed, primate zookeepers and volunteers will be staffing a special booth at the indoor Orangutan exhibit called “Project M.O.M.” (Missing Orangutan Mothers). Fliers, games, quizzes, pictures, commemorative bookmarks, and crafts for kids will be available. There will also be a raffle for a painting by Mahal, one of the Zoo’s orangutan’s, and a matted, framed picture of Mahal and his surrogate orangutan mother, MJ.
