flickr-boboroshiThinking of a unique gift for dad on Sunday? Consider taking a short road trip down to Arlington Heights, Illinois to play the ponies. Besides live horse racing, there are activities for the whole family to enjoy: pony rides, petting zoo for the kids, the last day of the Prairie State Art Fair, and a live Jersey Boys performance.  Gates open at 11:15am. First post is at 1pm.

Also, if you do check out Arlington, be sure to enter the American Airlines Summer Sweepstakes. According to the Arlington Park website:

Join us at Arlington Park all summer long and enter to win two (2) round trip airline tickets courtesy of American Airlines!  Simply fill out the entry form attached to your program by the end of the third (3rd) race on the day of the contest and listen after the fifth (5th) to see if you are among the finalists! The finalists will all be given a horse to represent them in the seventh (7th) race, the contestant with the winning horse wins!

Admission is $10 on Father’s Day but you can save 30% by purchasing advance tickets online.  Tickets must be purchased by 10am on Sunday, June 21st.  To order your tickets or to read more about Father’s Day at Arlington Park, click here.
