Cash for Clunkers Program Suspended?
Fox News has published an AP story that the Car Allowance Rebate System (“Cash for Clunkers” program) will be suspended by the Department of Transportation. According to the article, there is a possibility that auto dealers may have already surpassed the 250,000 vehicle sales funded by the $1 billion program.
A visit to the official CARS website – www.cars.gov -doesn’t mention the suspension yet. If you were considering buying a car in the near future and taking advantage of a $3,500 or $4,500 rebate, it looks like you might be too late!
