Amazon just announced an exciting upgrade to their Amazon Prime program.  Starting June 19, all seven of the Harry Potter books will be available to read for FREE in the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library!  This is big news for my family.  My son is a huge Harry Potter fan, and loves reading books on my Kindle.

The Kindle Owners’ Lending Library is a nice perk of being an Amazon Prime member.  You can check out one book per month for free.  The Library consists of over 145,000 books including the Hunger Games trilogy and over 100 other books from the New York Times Best Sellers list.

Amazon Prime costs $79 a year and gives members several benefits.  In addition to the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library, members receive free two-day shipping on all orders, and unlimited streaming of over 17,000 movies and TV shows.  New Amazon Prime members can receive a free 30 day trial.

Hundreds of Kindle Books On Sale This Week

As part of Amazon.com’s Cyber Monday Deals Week, hundreds of Kindle books have been discounted to $0.99, $1.99, $2.99, and $3.99.

One of the cool things about buying a Kindle book is you can either shop for yourself or give a Kindle book as a gift.  When giving a Kindle book as a gift you can specify when it is delivered, making this a nice opportunity to purchase an inexpensive holiday gift for a friend with a Kindle.

Also, you don’t have to own a Kindle device to read Kindle books.  With Kindle’s free reading apps, you can read books on your computer, iPad or other tablet device, or your mobile phone.  If you buy a Kindle in the future, your past purchases can be added to the device for free.
