Irish Fest 2012 runs August 16-19 at the Summerfest grounds on Milwaukee’s lakefront.  The festival features Irish food, music, dancing, shopping, cultural activities, and fireworks.

Regular admission to Irish Fest is $15 for adults (ages 13-59).  Seniors ages 60 and over are $10, and children ages 12 and under are free.  As always, we advocate getting in for free or at a discount, and there are several opportunities for free or discounted admission to Irish Fest.

Irish Fest 2012 admission promotions are as follows:

Thursday, August 16

School Supply Drive – Free admission with the donation of school supplies (markers, notebooks, backpacks, etc)  for children served by Hope House.

$5 Admission – Special $5 admission from 5 – 10 p.m.

Friday, August 17

$5 Buck Friday – Admission to Irish Fest is $5 between 4:00 and 5:30 p.m.

Sunday, August 19

Liturgy for Peace and Justice Mass – Donate non-perishable food items prior to the Liturgy for Peace and Justice mass on Sunday, August 19 for free admission to the festival following the mass.  Mass starts at 9:30 a.m., and you can get in free starting at 11:00.

College Day – College students that present a valid college ID will receive a $3 admission discount.  The College Day promotion runs from 2 – 7 p.m.

Military Day – All Active, Reserve, Guard, and Retired Military personnel will receive two free admissions to Irish Fest.

Throughout the run of Irish Fest, patrons can also get two free admission passes by making a donation of 10 different Irish music related items.

Wisconsin State Fair – 2012 Admission Promotions

The 2012 Wisconsin State Fair starts Thursday, August 2 and runs for 11 days through Sunday, August 12.  There are several opportunities for free or reduced State Fair admission if you plan ahead.

Regular ticket prices for the 2012 Fair are as follows:

  • Adult (12 & over) – $9
  • Seniors (60 & over) & Military/Veterans with ID  – $6
  • Youth (ages 6 – 11) – $5
  • Children (5 & under) – FREE

Parking on the Fair grounds is $10.  Free street parking is available in the neighborhoods surrounding State Fair Park, however it usually isn’t easy to find an open spot.  You can typically find a lawn to park on for $5 or so within a couple blocks of an entrance.  The largest concentration of lawns to park on is in the neighborhood west of the Fair grounds.

Drawing For Free Tickets

If you haven’t entered our daily drawing for free Wisconsin State Fair prize packages, there is still time to do so.  Each State Fair prize package contains a family four-pack of Fair tickets, a three-pack of Cream Puffs, and a Fair Deals Bargain Book. We’re drawing a winner each day for the 10 days preceding the Fair.

Discount Admission Promotions During the Fair

Hunger Task Force $4 Day – Thursday, August 2nd

On opening day, August 2nd, receive $4 admission with a donation of two non-perishable food items or a cash donation to the Hunger Task Force.  This offer is valid from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. at all Fair admission gates.  Check out more information about Hunger Task Force Day on the State Fair website.

Discover Wisconsin Day – Friday, August 3rd

On Friday August 3rd, non-Wisconsin residents can receive two admission tickets for $10 by showing their out-of-state drivers license at the ticket windows.

Weather Tight $6 before 6 p.m. Deal  – Monday, August 6th

On Monday, August 6th, receive $6 admission from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. by presenting a coupon from Weather Tight.  The coupon can be found on the Weather Tight website.

Kohl’s Family Value Day – Tuesday, August 7th

On Tuesday, August 7th, from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. adults will receive admission for the youth price of $5 (a $4 savings), and youth ages 11 and under will receive free admission.

U.S. Cellular $5 After 5 p.m. Day – Thursday, August 9th

After 5 p.m., on Thursday August 9th, receive admission for only $5 with the coupon available on the U.S. Cellular website.

Miller High Life Veterans and Military Recognition Day – Sunday, August 12th

Veterans, active duty military personnel, and their families will receive free Fair admission on Sunday, August 12th.  Eligible individuals should present their Military ID (DD214,VA ID, Military Common Access Card, or Dependent ID) at any admission entrance and receive free admission for themselves and up to three family members until 4 p.m. courtesy of Miller High Life.

Festa Italiana 2012 Admission Promotions

St Mark’s Campanile at Festa

Milwaukee’s Festa Italiana is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2012. The annual festival honoring Milwaukee’s Italian heritage takes place at the Summerfest grounds and runs from July 19-22.

There is a lot to see and do at Festa Italiana including eight  stages of free entertainment, cooking demonstrations, cultural exhibits and food from over 30 different vendors.  The famous Festa Italiana Fireworks take place nightly at 10:15.

Admission at the gate is $13 for adults, and free for children 12 and under.  There are plenty of opportunities for free or discounted Festa Italiana admission.

Peroni Advanced Admission Promotion

Receive a free Festa Italiana ticket with the purchase of one 12-pack or two 6-packs of Peroni at area grocery and liquor stores. Tickets are redeemable at the Mid-Gate.

Specific day admission promotions are as follows:

Thursday, July 19

5 – 7 p.m. – Piggly Wiggly Free Admission.  Patrons presenting a Piggly Wiggly Preferred Club Card at the Mid-Gate receive free admission.

Friday, July 20

11:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. – Free Admission for everyone!

11 a.m. – 2 p.m. – VIP Day – Individuals with physical challenges along with their caregivers receive free admission and 1/2 price selected food and beverages.

3 – 5 p.m. – 35th Anniversary Celebration – All Festa visitors who are 35 years old receive free admission with a valid ID.

3 – 7 p.m. – Piggly Wiggly $6 Admission –  Patrons presenting a Piggly Wiggly Preferred Club Card at the Mid-Gate receive $6 admission.

Saturday, July 21

3 – 5 p.m. – 35th Anniversary Celebration – All Festa visitors who are 35 years old receive free admission with a valid ID.

Sunday, July 22

10 – 11:15 a.m. – Free Admission After High Mass – Free admission to Festa for all that attend High Mass in the Marcus Amphitheater. Mass begins at 11 a.m. Mass is followed by an authentic Italian religious street procession through the Festa grounds.  Patrons must enter the grounds at the South Entrance, and a donation to the Hunger Task Force is requested.

3 – 5 p.m. – 35th Anniversary Celebration – All Festa visitors who are 35 years old receive free admission with a valid ID.
