Rummage sales are a great way to find bargains on all sorts of items.  We recently reached out to our fans on Facebook and asked them what resources they use to locate rummage sales.  Our fans indicated they like to use the following websites, and we’ve added brief descriptions of each website:

  • Craigslist – Rummage sales submitted by the public.
  • RummageWisconsin.com – Results are displayed in a list format.  Advanced searches can be performed to narrow results by keyword, region, county, or city.
  • BrookfieldYardSales.com – Garage sales submitted by the public.  Results include a helpful link to Google Maps.
  • Jsonline.com/Rummage – Rummage sales in and around Milwaukee County.  Features of this resource include the ability to search by keyword, city, day the sale is open, and results can also be seen in a list format.

We have also recently come across these helpful websites:

  • GarageSaleFinder.com – Local garage sales are displayed on a map, and you can print handy turn-by-turn directions to the garage sale of your choice.  A lot of the data shown is from Craigslist, so if you frequently use Craigslist to identify rummage sales in your community, it might be more helpful to view the data on a map.
  • Fox 6 Rummage Tracker – Fox 6 allows people to submit rummage sales on a weekly basis.  All rummage sale submissions are displayed on the map immediately.  Every Monday the data is cleared out so a new batch of rummage sales can be entered in by users.  An advantage of the Fox 6 Rummage Tracker is that it is promoted by Fox 6, which makes it more likely to be used by local residents to submit their garage sale and for bargain hunters to locate rummage sales.
  • My Community Now Rummage Map – Same type of technology as the JSOnline.com Rummage map; however, rummages are listed from all the suburbs around Milwaukee.

Which resource do you think is most helpful?  Are there any other websites we should add to our list?  Feel free to leave a comment.
