I have gone to portrait innovations on several and told that if I buy enough product that I would get a CD with all my photos to do with whatever I wanted. Well that was not the case. These pictures are low resolution pictures with the high resolutions pictures encrypted and you must ask permission to have them reproduced. I would have never gone there and had my photos taken of my children had I known this. I cannot tell you how valuable having the copyright on your pictures will be to you and your family in the future. I am heart broken and sickened by this. For what I paid to get my photos there, I could have gotten them at Sears, JCPenneys, Olan Mills or Target (am sure there are others) and obtained a CD with copyright privileges so that I could reproduce these pictures at any time. Please, if you value your family photos and want to give your children something special go somewhere else so you can have control over your family photos and your child’s image. I hope I can keep a family from having to go through the anguish that I have gone through with this company.
I have bought portrait packages from Target, Penney’s, and Sears and have never been offered the option of buying a copyright free CD of the pictures. Considering the amount that these companies charge for reprints, I find it very hard to believe that they would offer unlimited use of their product by purchasing a CD of the pictures.
This is an incredible deal – $9.95 for 40+ prints! I don’t think many people will be suffering from “anguish” if they go with this deal.
Cat I completely agree with you!! I have only ever taken my kids to Kiddie Kandids because they take amazing pictures and give you a high resolution cd for reprinting pictures. Well Kiddie Kandids just filed for bankruptcy so I tried Portrait Innovations for the first time today. I only wanted to buy the CD but was told I needed to spend $100 on pictures in order to get the cd. So I did. Needless to say I was very very upset when I got home and looked at the cd and realized it was impossible to reprint the pictures. Basically the cd was useless! I’m going to call Portrait Innovations tomorrow to see if I could return my order. While the $9.95 deal was amazing the pictures turned out ok but to me its not worth it because bottom line is I wanted the cd. I really hope they will return my order so I can take my kids to another studio.
