According to the City of Milwaukee’s recycling website, over one million dollars of recyclable material ends up in landfills and not the city budget. During these times of revenue shortfalls and budget issues, if we all took the time to educate ourselves on what can and can’t be recycled, it should benefit the communities we live in. Take some time to browse through Milwaukee’s website, Waukesha County’s website, or Racine County’s website to learn more about the recycling program in your community. Milwaukee’s Recycling website has some interesting photo’s of the recycling process and how all the recyclables get sorted out, and Waukesha County has pictures of the Materials Recycling Facility as well.
