Weekly Energy Savings Posts
Although gas prices are starting to creep up again, we have some great news to share regarding energy prices. JSOnline recently reported that WE Energies decreased their electricity rates 2.2%. Unfortunately, WE Energies has proposed to regulators to raise electricity rates 4.9% in 2010 and another 4.5% in 2011. This will result in a sizeable increase for Milwaukee area consumers in many ways – residential electric bills will rise, local employers will have greater expenses which may affect their the health and profitability, and local businesses may need to pass on the cost to consumers to offset these increases.
Our goal at Milwaukee Consumer is to provide you with useful tips on how you can save energy costs at home so you can try to offset these potential increases. Each Wednesday we’ll post an energy savings tip for you to take immediate action on so you can start reducing your WE Energies bill right away. We’d appreciate energy savings tips that you’ve implemented successfully. If you have any information to share, please contact us.
