WE Energies Rates to Go Up 4% in 2010
On November 12, 2009, the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) approved a rate increase of about 4% for all WE Energies customers. According to the PSC, the average WE Energies customer will see an increase of about $5 per month on their utility bill, which translates to an annual increase of about $60.
WE Energies had asked for a proposed increase of $190 million but the PSC granted a rate increase of about $90 million. Had the WE Energies proposal been accepted, local consumers would be looking at a much higher utility bill increase. Higher rates are also projected for 2011.
