It won’t be long before the hot and humid days of summer will be here and Milwaukee area residents will be turning on their air conditioners. Unfortunately, running an air conditioner can be an expensive proposition. According to the WE Energies Appliance Calculator, the average cost for an air conditioner in the month of July is $84.96. This figure assumes the air conditioner is set at 72 degrees.

In order to make sure your air conditioner is running efficiently, you should give it a good tune up from time to time. The above video from Bob Vila shows you how to give your air conditioner a quick tune up. Keep in mind the video demonstrates a very basic tune up. You may want to consider contacting your local HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) specialist for a more thorough inspection. If you know of any good HVAC specialists to recommend, feel free to leave a comment for our readers.
