Wisconsin Do Not Call List
Here’s some helpful information for Milwaukee Consumers to avoid calls from telemarketers. Call 1-866-966-2255 toll-free in Wisconsin to have your residential and/or mobile telephone line added to the list. Alternatively, you can visit the No Call website.
According to the State, the date you sign up determines when your telemarketing calls should decrease. Updated lists are sent to telemarketers on a quarterly basis. For example, if you sign up before Monday, December 1, 2008, your number will be released on the quarterly list on January 1, 2009.
As a reminder, consumers must renew their registration on the list every two years. Although you may have registered for the list in the past (the list was effective January 1, 2003), it is possible you need to register again. Disney Live! Winnie the Pooh – $15
Tickets are available for a discounted price of $15 each for the Sunday, December 7th performances of Disney Live! Winnie the Pooh at the Milwaukee Theater Wisconsin Center District. There are two shows that day – 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM.

Operation Coupon
WISN.com recently posted an interesting story about coupons that we thought would appeal to readers of Milwaukee Consumer. A woman by the name of Ellen LaValla from Minnesota started to clip coupons for military families overseas to help them cut their expenses. Local organizations heard about her great idea and started sending her coupons too. One thank you note Mrs. LaValla received from a military family stated they saved $500 in one year by using these coupons!
What a great way to help those who serve and protect our country. Unfortunately we couldn’t locate a website for Mrs. LaValla. However, we did come across a similar operation in the Chicago area. If you are aware of any Milwaukee area organization that collects coupons for a similar type of cause, please contact us at Milwaukee Consumer and we’ll post the information to our website!

Holiday Gifts For Less Promotion – 1/2 Price Gift Certificates

Today, FM106 launched another gift certificate promotion where you pay half price for a gift certificate to a Milwaukee area business. They have been doing this weekly with their Moo Crew Dining Deals, but this is a special holiday offer for services, merchandise and restaurant gift certificates. There are some good names on the list of participants like Stonefire Pizza Co., Charcoal Grill & Rotisserie, Discovery World, and Wisconsin Harley Davidson.
So far, this has not been heavily promoted, and not many people know about it. This morning at 8:00, gift cerfiticates to the 19 different businesses that are particpating went on sale. Over the next several weeks leading up to Chiristmas, they will offer gift certificates again to the paricipating businesses. The businesses that are participating are:

Here is our weekly roundup of radio station dining deals. The WKTI Half Off Hookup site has finally been taken down. There were scheduled deals on the WKTI site that haven’t shown up elsewhere (like WTMJ). We’ll have to see what happens with that.
